Water is the key to all life on earth and in this theme, we present the many faces of water – as a solid, liquid and gas – and explain why its conservation is so important to our survival.
Children discover the atomic make-up of water and become oxygen atoms searching for hydrogen atoms – how many do they need to find to become a water molecule?
We then look at the water cycle, and children have the opportunity to dress up in water droplet costumes and come on an interactive journey where they learn why oceans are salty, why it rains, and much more.
Finally, we discuss why humans need clean water, and encourage everyone to think about the importance of looking after our natural areas and recycling water so we can preserve our water catchments.
This program is aligned with both the Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework.
